Code Berlin

Since 2000, Berlin has been the first metropolis worldwide to be awarded the official title of Unesco City of Design. Create Berlin has taken this opportunity to call on the city's creatives to reformulate Berlin's visual identity & present it on hundreds of posters and installations.

The call campaign – designed together with Rosendahl Berlin – shows the faces of celebrities who have played a major role in the city's graphic culture. The exhibition of the German prizewinners took place at the Bauhaus-Archiv Museum für Gestaltung Berlin.

Two years later another six Unesco Cities of Design organized the same competition. The 80 finalists from Berlin, Buenos Aires, Kobe, Montreal, Nagoya, Shanghai & Shenzen were presented in the SOHO House Berlin. The corresponding poster shows all 80 motifs.
